Temporary Extension Granted for House of Hope
The City of Casper has given the residents of the House of Hope until Friday to vacate the homeless and transitional shelter.
City Manager John Patterson says he received a letter Friday afternoon from House of Hope founder Bishop Charles Trimm, and at that point, the city decided to grant an extension.
City and fire codes have not been met since the House of Hope opened in December, forcing about 55 people to now look for another place to call home. Trimm says he assumes all liability for the tenants in the House of Hope and will take all the proper precautions to prevent any mishaps.
Patterson says the city is working with Community Action Partnership and Interfaith to place them in different accommodations.
