Sheep Herder Hill Fire UPDATE: Friday PM

UPDATE: September 14, 2012- 7:29 p.m.
-The fire is now 75% contained.
-Crews were able to secure a fire line all the way around the fire.
-Appointments have started to be setup to bring residents that have lost their homes or cabins. Appointments will be 30 minutes long beginning at 8:00 a.m. Residents will be able to start making a game plan on recovery and cleanup efforts. NOTE: You will need proof of residence and will only be allowed up with an appointment.
-Hat Six Road is open to residents only.
-37 homes or cabins lost, 2 homes or cabins damaged, 23 out buildings lost and 1 out building damaged.
-Falling trees remain a problem.
-The road at and past Bear Trap is still closed.
-The cause is still under investigation.
-Another public meeting is set for Monday the 17th at 5 p.m. at City Hall.
-Go to www.firewise.org to prepare your home or cabin in case a fire like this happens again.

-Contact Serve Wyoming at 307-234-3428. They are assisting in the recovery and cleanup efforts for those who may not have the funds.
