According to the Natrona County Sheriff's Office, a total 27 people have fallen victim to a recent string of horse-hair thefts. A total of 63 horses have had either their tails and/or manes cut off.

Officials now believe there have been at least two male subjects in a vehicle when the thefts occur. Several reports have stated two hispanic males occupied the vehicles.

Sheriff deputies say a white econoline van and a black flatbed truck with a welder in the back have been seen in the vicinity of the thefts. Authorities have also identified a 1997 to 2000 silver extended cab Chevy truck and a 1980 model passenger vehicle that appears to be beat up.

The first case of horse-hair theft was reported in August in Converse County. Thefts have also been reported in Natrona, Fremont, and Sweetwater counties.
