Pregnant and Going to Jail?

A woman accused of attacking a man with a hammer received no sympathy from a Natrona County judge this morning.
Alyson Oatts, who is pregnant and due in February, might end up having her baby in jail, as she faces a felony of aggravated assault.
Oatts' defense attorney asked for her bond to be reduced from $10,000 to $3,000, saying the jail is not equipped to handle the situation. However, that motion was denied by the judge.
Authorities say in early February, Oatts and four others went off in search of a man they felt shorted one of the men in a drug deal. When the group found him, investigators say one man threw a knife at the victim, hitting him in the calf. When the victim was on the ground, Oatts allegedly attacked him with a hammer.
Her case will now move to district court.
