The Laramie County Sheriff's Office has arrested the man they say was responsible for murdering one man and trying to kill another during an apparent drug deal gone bad last week in Cheyenne.
The suspect was also stabbed and wounded in the violent incident.
28-year-old Brian Sears of Cheyenne is being charged with the 2nd degree murder of 22-year-old Connor Tarr and attempted murder of 22-year-old Cameron Scott.
Around 10:30 Thursday night, Tarr was fatally shot at a trailer home at 212 Tyler Place. Scott was able to flee the scene, but not before being shot at several times. Scott has since worked with authorities to help them piece together what happened.
The Sheriff's Office says it is still investigating the incident and piecing together what exactly happened the night of the homicide. "We're still looking into possible involvement of all the parties in this incident as well as looking into the events," said LCSD spokesman Gerry Luce. "Currently the only charges that have been filed are against Mr. Sears."
Sears made his initial court appearance in Cheyenne Monday morning.
