WYDOT is preparing for what some are expecting to be a major winter storm. As of Friday evening, blizzard warnings were set to take effect at 2 a.m. for most of Southeastern Wyoming.

Forecasters say Cheyenne and the Laramie range will be hit hard by the storm. 5-10 inches of snow are expected in both Cheyenne and Laramie through Saturday night.

Areas like Casper that are not expecting blizzard conditions will still probably see significant snow. Forecasters predict 2-4 inches of snow in the Oil City.

In Laramie County, WYDOT is hard at work. Thanks to advanced equipment, the department can quickly alert drivers of road conditions and closures while adjusting speed limits on the fly.

As K2's Jeff Schuman reports, there may be no escaping Cheyenne this weekend.
