High School Graduation Rates Drop
For the third straight year, the graduation rates of students attending schools in Wyoming have dropped slightly. In the 2011-2012 school year, the statewide graduation rate stood at just over 78%, down from over 79% in 2010-2011. The rate was just over 80% the year before that.
Of the state's 48 districts, 34 maintained a graduation rate of 80% or higher.
Washakie District #2 was the only district that saw 100% of its students graduate on time, while parts of Fremont County saw rates as low as 11%.
As K2's Cassandra Hager reports, the Wyoming Department of Education's interim director calls the results "sobering."
