"Fresh Ideas" Memorial Day

Memorial Day is right around the corner, and while it is generally cold and rainy, this year it is shaping up to be a beautiful weekend!

It will be a perfect time to break out that BBQ and get to work on some great grilling steaks from Albertsons.

Dan Hittle of Albertsons joined us on GMW to share some "fresh ideas," tips and tricks to perfecting that beef, while creating some delicious side dishes and treats that are sure to please the masses.

½ cup Olive Oil
2 tbsp. Red Wine Vinegar
¼ cup juice and grated rind of 2 lemons
1 tbsp. Fresh basil or 14 tsp. Dried
1 shallot, mince or 1 large onion, minced
¼ tsp. oregano
1 tbsp. Soy Sauce
1 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
6 cloves of garlic, crushed
½ tsp. Black Pepper

Process all ingredients in blender until smooth
Pour marinade in ziploc bag along with steaks and place in refrigerate for at least 2 hours

1 lb Red-Skinned New Potatoes cooked till tender and drained and diced
3 tablespoons Dijon Mustard
½ cup Mayonnaise
¼ cup Bacon crumbled
¼ cup of Scallions thinly sliced
1 cup of Corn Fresh or frozen and thawed
4 Hard Boiled Eggs peeled and chopped
Salt and Freshly grounded Pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients in large bowl and refrigerate overnight
