The Burroughs Fire 12 miles north of Dubois, has exploded in the last 48 hours from 100 to nearly 2,000 acres. The fire started after a lightning strike Thursday night and was discovered Friday morning. Nearby residents are currently under a mandatory evacuation, as buildings are threatened by the blaze. 179 personnel are fighting this fire, including type 1, 2 and 3 crews. By air, one helicopter was used sunday, however the air tanker that was assisting Saturday, was not used the rest of the weekend. The growth potential is considered high.
