The University of Wyoming trustees have voted to appoint Dick McGinity as the school's president until June 30th 2016. McGinity has been serving as interim president since December 6th. The move came on a 9 to 3 vote after 4 hours of closed door deliberations. The trustees took public comment on the university's presidential search this morning. Many testifiying felt McGinity needed to have a more permanent status to help stabilize the university's administration. Several top administrators left during the short tenure of former president Robert Sternberg. He resigned in a swirl of controversy less than 5 months after taking over the job.
