Irrigation Ban Almost Over

Repairs are almost complete on the burst pipe at the Central Wyoming Regional Water Treatment Plant. A pipe at the plant which gives the city 40% of it's water capacity burst on Monday, and an irrigation ban as been in effect since.

Public Services Director Gary Clough says that temporary repairs have been completed on the pipe, and customers can hopefully resume watering their lawns starting on Thursday. Clough says that the pipe was abandoned in the early 1970s, and it had been leaking for quite some time. The temporary repairs, Clough says, will hold through the summer until more repairs can be done when the water levels recede.
