Casper Lifts Watering Ban
Its okay to water your lawn again in the Casper area.
The outdoor irrigation ban in effect since Monday was lifted at eight o'clock this morning.
The ban was put into place Monday, after it was discovered that a pipe that feeds water from the North Platte River to the water treatment plant had burst.
That pipe supplies about 40 percent of Casper's water.
Workers finished temporary repairs to the pipe Wednesday.
City public services director Gary Clough says those repairs should hold through the summer.
He says workers will replace the pipe this fall, when both consumer demand and water table levels are lower.
