CWC Student Loan Default Rate Twice US Average

The latest federal statistics say Central Wyoming College in Riverton has a student loan default rate of 17-percent, more than twice the national average of 7-percent.
 
CWC officials say the poor economy and lack of jobs in Fremont County could be the reason. 
 
The US Department of Education report details loan default rates for the 2008 fiscal year.
 
Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington was a close second on the list with a loan default rate of 16-and-a-half percent. Casper College was third at 12-point-2 percent.
