No Charges in Officer Involved Shooting

Laramie county district attorney Scott Homar says his office will not file criminal charges relating to the shooting of 21-year-old Matthew Carabajal.

Carbajal was shot and wounded Septmber 19th by a unidentified Cheyenne police officer.

According to a news release, Carabajal initially complied with police during a traffic stop, but eventually became agitated. Carabajal then started his vehicle, despite commands to the contrary, and drove toward police officers.

The officer who fired the shots was put on administrative leave. Though no criminal charges will be filed, the internal review continues.

Meanwhile, Carabajal remains in a Denver hospital.
