Head men’s basketball coach Dan Russell is happy to announce the addition of Kevon Davis to his coaching staff. Davis comes to Casper College via Harcum Junior College in Philadelphia where he helped lead the Bears to Hutch the last two seasons and have coached several players who have graduated and signed Division I scholarships. This past season, he had a hand in a 32-5 record with a 4th place finish at the national tournament.

With a great deal of recruiting ties to the northeast and east coast, Davis brings knowledge and has proven his worth with player development, specifically with posts and big men. He also served as a program director for the business department at Harcum JC.

Kevon will assume duties of player development, scouting/game and practice planning, in-game coaching, recruiting, and academics. The Thunderbirds are getting someone who has a lot of post-season experience as well as a coach who knows what it takes to prepare kids for the next level academically and on the court.

“We are extremely excited about adding Kevon to the staff here at Casper College.” said Head Coach Dan Russell. “Kevon’s strength is that he does everything well, and that's what we demand here at Casper. You recruit, you coach, you develop and you scout.”

With Kevon moving into the vacant assistant coaching spot for Dan Russell, he will have big impact on the team’s success right away. As a player at Harcum, Davis holds the distinction of being the winningest player in Harcum history earning 56 wins over his two years with the Bears. His experience as a player and a coach are some of the reasons why he has been very success at Harcum.

“We lost phenomenal coaches and people, but we've gained a phenomenal coach and person," Russell said. “We were able to hit a home run with this hire. He's been on the bench for two national tournament appearances. He recruited those guys, developed them and coached them. He's knows what it takes to win.”
