March 2019 Blizzard Coverage

WELL ERIK THIS MORNING WHEN I WAS GETTING READY FOR WORK IT LOOKED LIKE METEOROLOGIST MAJORLY OVERPREDICTED THE WEATHER BECAUSE IN CHEYENNE THERE WASNT A SINGLE SNOWFLAKE ON THE GROUND… WELL I ATE MY WORDS PRETTY QUICKLY BECAUSE AROUND 830 THE SNOW REALLY STARTING WHIPPING IN…

NOW I JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE AND WHILE THEY SAY THE STORM STARTED A LITTLE LATER THAN ANTICIPATED… THEY CLAIM THE CELL IS ACTUALLY SLIGHTLY STRONGER THAN WHAT THE ORIGINAL MONITORS WERE SHOWING…

THOSE METEOROLOGISTS WERE ALSO EXPLAINING HOW THIS BLIZZARD MAY IN FACT BE ONE FOR THE BOOKS AS THEY CLAIM THE PRESSURE OF THE SYSTEM IS POSSIBLY THE LOWEST THEY HAVE EVER SEEN… WHICH IS WHAT MAKES THAT STORM EVEN STRONGER…

SO ORIGINAL PREDICTIONS CALLED FOR 12 TO 18 INCHES HERE IN THE CAPITAL CITY… ACCORDING TO THE WEATHER SERVICE… THAT IS STILL LOOKING LIKE THE CASE… AND ORIGINAL WIND SPEED PREDICTIONS WERE 30 TO 45 MILE AN HOUR SUSTAINED WINDS WITH 65 MILE AN HOUR GUSTS… AND ITS NO SHOCK IN GOOD OLE WINDY WYOMING WE HAVE ALREADY SEEN THOSE NUMBERS REPORTED AS WELL…

I THINK IT IS SAFE TO SAY THAT WHEN CHEYENNE MAYOR MARIAN ORR TWEETED LAST NIGHT THAT CITY OF CHEYENNE OFFICES AND ALL SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED… THAT IT WAS THE RIGHT CALL… NOW MOST OF THE CITY FOLLOWED IN ORRS FOOTSTEPS AND SHUT DOWN SHOP AS WELL FOR THE DAY… IF YOU TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR SCREEN…

GOVERNOR GORDON CLOSED ALL CHEYENNE STATE OFFICES… L TRIPLE C CLOSED FOR THE DAY… AND A NUMBER OF CLINICS AND OUTPATIENT CENTERS AT CRMC AND THE VA CENTER ALSO SHUT DOWN…

NOW ROADS ARE ALSO CLOSED AROUND THE STATE… THE MAJOR ONES… I-25 FROM THE COLORADO BOARDER ALL THE WAY UP TO CASPER IS CLOSED… AND I 80 FROM THE NEBRASKA BORDER TO ROCK SPRINGS IS ALSO CLOSED WITH MANY OTHERS IN THE MIDST…  MOST OF WHICH ARE NOT PLANNING TO REOPEN UNTIL TOMORROW… SO ERIK… THATS WHAT WE ARE SEEING DOWN HERE… HOPEFULLY THE WORST HAS PASSED BECAUSE IM READY FOR THAT POST STORM WARMUP… GIOVANNI PINTO REPORTING FROM THE CAPITAL CITY… SENDING IT BACK UP TO YOU IN CASPER…
