Powder River Post Office Stays Open

The U.S. Postal Service is backing off a previous plan to close thousands of post offices, including almost 40 in Wyoming.

The Postal Service has instead choose to cut hours hours at rural facilities to save $500 million a year.

Powder River Community members found out over a year ago they lose their post office.

But today, the good news of it staying open for at least two more years spread very quickly through the little town.

The U.S. Postal Service is currently reviewing which offices will have their hours changed.

But good news for Powder River, according to the U.S. Postal Service's website, their hours will remain to stay open for six hours per day.
