A man who was convicted in December of aggravated burglary and kidnapping was sentenced to life in prison today.
The jury that found 25-year-old Christopher Counts guilty on those charges also found that he was a habitual criminal, because he had served multiple stints in jail and had struggled with addiction.
In a lengthy statement before his sentencing, Counts addressed the court saying, "this is first day of the rest of my life."
