Cody Girl Abduction TimelineK2's Megan Contreras has the latest from the Cody Police Department.
New details are emerging in yesterdays kidnapping of an 11-year-old Cody, Wyoming girl.
We have decided to with hold the young girls name because the Cody Police have identified her as a rape victim.
Authorities are investigating if this abduction case has any connection with the missing 10-year-old Colorado girl, Jessica Ridgeway.
Ridgeway went missing last Friday morning in Westminster, Co. on her way school.
Cody Police Chief sent K2 a timeline of the unfortunate events that are believed to have taken place in the Cody abduction and they are as follows:
At around 4:30 yesterday afternoon, the Cody Police Department received a report that the young girl had gotten into a vehicle with a stranger at the Park County Complex.
She was reeled in when the man asked her to help him look for his dog and she said yes.
An Amber Alert was activated at 6:43 last night.
About an hour later, a group of hunters spotted a female walking down Spirit Mountain Road and called police.
That person walking was in fact the missing girl.
Reports show she was sexually assaulted on Carter Mountain before being released.
She was taken to the hospital and her condition is unknown at this time.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 55 to 60-years-old, weighing 185 to 200 pounds.
He has what looks like strawberry blonde or white hair, with a neatly trimmed mustache or beard.
He was last seen wearing a brown shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap.
The vehicle he was driving is described as a white SUV, possibly a suburban, with 2 front seats and a mattress in the back part of the vehicle.
The vehicle may have a black and red backpack tied to the roof rack, with a package of bottled water strapped to the top of the vehicle and the rack.
Investigators in Colorado say they are not looking for a white SUV in the Jessica Ridgeway case.
The FBI and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation have been called to assist in this investigation.
