Cody Abduction Suspect Appears in Court

The Montana man arrested over the weekend in connection with the kidnapping and assault of an 11 year old Cody girl made his first court appearance Monday afternoon. 39 year old Jesse Speer waived his right to an extradition hearing, meaning he will be transported to Park County to face the Wyoming charges.
Speer does resemble the sketch (shown below) that was released by authorities on Saturday.
The social networking site Google+ lists a profile for a photographer named Jesse Speer living in Bozeman. Posts from Speer on the Google+ page showed photographs taken in Grand Teton National Park as well as Colorado. It was not immediately clear if he was the same man in custody. The photographer's website, www.JesseSpeer.com, appeared to be offline.
Speer appeared in a Bozeman, Montana court room speaking only to give Judge Holly Brown his name, and answering "yes" and "no" to other questions.
Speer is being held without bond in Bozeman. He will be transported to Wyoming soon, but public defender Eric Brewer says he does not know when.
At a press conference in Cody earlier today, police told reporters that law enforcement in Yellowstone National Park provided the lead on a possible license plate number, that ultimately led to Speer's arrest.
Speer is accused of kidnapping and later assaulting a Cody girl on October 8th, after luring the girl by telling her he needed help in finding a lost puppy. The girl was found by hunters on a mountain road near Cody later that night.
