Gillete representative Tom Lubnau will be the next speaker of the house in the Wyoming Legislature.
A majority of 52 Republican representatives who met in Casper on Saturday picked Lubnau in a straw poll. The non-binding poll becomes official when the new Wyoming Legislature officially votes for him after members are sworn in January 8th.
Lubnau is an attorney who has been in the house for seven years. He previously served as speaker pro tem and the majority floor leader.
Lubnau will hold the new position for the next two years.
