Widespread Flu Outbreak in Wyoming

It will probably come as no surprise, but the Wyoming Department of Health says the state is in the middle of a widespread flu outbreak.
Clay Van Houten of the Health Department says the number of cases is higher than at any point during the 2009-2010 season. That was the season of the swine flu pandemic, and the most serious recent flu season in the state.
Van Houten continues to stress that getting a flu shot is your best protection, but adds it take a couple of weeks for the vaccine to become fully effective. He also reiterates that washing your hands is another important way to prevent the flu and says if you are sick, stay home from work or school.
