WY Military Dept. to Furlough 400 Employees
by K2 News Desk, firstname.lastname@example.org
The Wyoming Military Department is planning to furlough more than 400 employees because of federal budget cuts. The furloughs will begin April 26th and continue at least until the end of September.
Most of the cuts involve closing Wyoming Army National Guard maintenance facilities every Friday. Those facilities are located in Cheyenne, Evanston, Laramie and Lovell.
Use of National Guard armories and other community support functions may also be cut back or eliminated. But, Major Generl Luke Reiner says the Guard will remain ready to handle any missions that arise.
