A Casper woman faces an aggravated assault charge after allegedly stabbing a man multiple times inside his residence over the holiday weekend.
55-year-old Rita Palato appeared before circuit court judge Michael Patchen Tuesday afternoon, where she stated that she hoped the man she allegedly stabbed was OK.
Palato is also charged with possession of a deadly weapon. She faces up to 10 years in prison.
On Sunday evening police responded to a report of a knife assault. The victim had several stab wounds to his arms and legs. According to a witness, Palato and the victim were fighting over an issue with a family member. Palato allegedly stabbed the man with what appeared to be a kitchen knife.
Bond was set Tuesday afternoon at $10,000 and Palato will have a preliminary hearing within the next 10 days.
