Celebrating the 4th with Albertsons

Dan Hittle of Albertsons joined us in our studio parking lot with some "fresh ideas" for the 4th of July!
Celebrate our independence the all American way with a delicious burger and wonderful sides... and who can beat a shark watermelon bowl?!



Fresh Fruit salad in Watermelon Bowl
Ingredients:
1 seedless Watermelon
1 Cantaloupe
1 lb strawberries
1 package of blueberries

Directions:
Clean and cut fruit in to bite size pieces
Carve out bowl from seedless watermelon
Place Fruit in to bowl

Herbed Tomato Pasta Salad
This is a delicious, healthy and filling pasta salad that is great for dinner with the family or a summer potluck. You can use many of these ingredients direct from you garden, or get them at your local store.

Ingredients:
2 1/2 lb cherry tomatoes, quartered
1 teaspoon sugar
1 1/4 cups mixed chopped fresh herbs
1 lb pasta of your choice
5 garlic cloves, chopped
3/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
Fresh mozzarella, parmesan or Asiago cheese for garnish
Directions:
Stir together quartered cherry tomatoes, sugar, and herbs in a large bowl until combined well.
Cook pasta in boiling salted water until al dente, then drain.
Add hot pasta to tomato mixture.
Cook garlic in olive oil in a 1-quart saucepan over moderately high heat, stirring, 1 minute.
Add garlic with oil to pasta and tomatoes and toss to combine.
Season with salt and pepper.

Grilled Pineapple
Ingredients
1 fresh Pineapple
1 can of coconut milk
1 cup of sugar
1 tsp of cinnamon
1 package of skewers

Directions:
Cut Pineapple into bite size pieces
Combine sugar and cinnamon in bowl
Coat pineapple with coconut milk
Dip into cinnamon and sugar mixture
Grill until golden brown

The All American Burger
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. water
1/2 tsp. seasoned salt
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 medium onion chopped
4 sandwich buns

Directions:
Prepare and heat grill. Combine all ingredients except sandwich buns in a large bowl and mix gently. Shape into four patties. Cook   10-15 minutes until hamburgers are no longer pink in center, or they reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees. You can toast the sandwich buns on the grill just before serving, if you like. Serve with all the traditional fixings - mustard, ketchup, pickles, relish, American cheese. YUM!
