First Solo Flight Ends in CrashBy: K2 News desk, email@example.com
A Montana teenager making her first solo flight, walked away from the crash of her Cessna 172 plane in a rugged area southwest of Meeteetse.
By sheer luck, two men horse back riding in the area witnessed the crash, and were able to find 17 year old Mckenzie Morgan, and help her out of the backcountry.
The Park County sheriff's office says Morgan became disoriented while flying over the mountainous area.
Morgan's mother says her daughter was able to land the plane but then it flipped.
The accident brings up the unique hazards of flying small planes in the Wyoming mountains.
K2's John Shrable will have more on those challenges, tonight on the K2 News at 5.
