Attempted Murder Case Begins
K2's Ophelia Young reports, firstname.lastname@example.org:
Over the weekend a man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping and beating his ex-girlfriend.
Today's court authorities added an attempted murder charge to his case.
The victim told police she stepped out of the car in the parking lot of Studio City on Friday night and her ex-boyfriend 33-year-old LaShawn Sidney King suddenly began beating her with a hammer.
She begged for her life but he forced her into the back of the vehicle and drove across the east side of town.
Meanwhile the victim managed to desperately sneak in a 911 call saying, "Help me, help me."
King then allegedly stopped at a gas station, filled a gas can and said he was going to light the victim on fire.
Police finally arrested King back at his home and transported the victim to the hospital, where they treated multiple skull fractures.
King is being charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping and attempted murder.
He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
