SUV Veers Off Casper Mountain

One man was injured early this morning when he lost control of his SUV and careened off Casper Mountain Road.

It took authorities hours to drag the wreckage back up the mountainside.

The highway patrol says the vehicle hit a culvert and then went about 65 feet along the side of the road before striking a tree and plunging down the mountain.

The man inside the SUV had to be rescued from about 175 feet below the road.

EMS crews pulled him up the steep slope on a sled.

The victim was taken to Wyoming Medical Center.
