WY Wind Speeds Exceed 75mphSubmitted By: K2 News Desk, firstname.lastname@example.org
Hurricane force winds blew a tractor-trailer combination off Wyoming Boulevard south of Casper around 10 this morning. Ahigh wind advisory was in effect at the time, which means travel by high profile vehicles was still allowed, but not advised. The accident closed the westbound lanes of Wyoming Boulevard near Mckinley for about 2 hours, while the truck and trailer set back on their wheels and removed. There were no injuries in the crash. A WY-DOT spokesman told us that winds were gusting at more than 60-miles an hour when the truck was flipped. The national weather service reported a gust of 75-miles an hour in natrona county this afternoon at hiland west of Casper. That's a-mile an hour faster than the 74-mile per hour wind that defines a category one hurricane. Authorities want to remind drivers they can be ticketed for ignoring advisories or light trailer closures on the state's highways.
