The Wyoming Department of Transportation held a meeting Wednesday night to present the final plan of the Highway 220 (Casper South) project. The proposal looks to widen the highway from two lanes to four lanes starting at milepost 102 and ending at milepost 108. The project extends the current four-lane highway south from Casper by about 6 miles. The plan also includes the installation of dynamic overhead message signs facing both directions which are to be located by Gothberg Road.

The project will affect intersections at Jackson Canyon Road, El Rio Road, Bessemer Bend North Road, Goose Egg Road, and Gothberg Road. WYDOT says that there should be little disruption to traffic.

Construction is set to begin around late June and WYDOT predicts that the project will be completed by the end of 2013.
