Crews Build Up Sandbags in Mills

Earlier today crews built up sandbags along the Mills Water Treatment facility alongside the North Platte. Officials are expecting the river to rise to levels high than last year, due in part to flooding, run-offs, dam releases and increasing temperatures. The river is expected to rise to above 7 feet, prompting an "action stage."

Officials don't think that the river levels will reach quite as high as the sandbags, but they say they're wanting to take all possible precautions. People using the river for recreation are to use caution, and residents living alongside the river can expect to see the water levels increase later this week.
