Casper Council Selects New City Manager

The Casper City Council has chosen John Patterson to become the next City Manager of Casper.

“We’re very excited,” said Mayor Paul Bertoglio in a media release Friday. “John is well qualified, and he has already shown boundless enthusiasm for the position and for the community. The Council and I think that he’ll be a great asset to the team here in Casper.”

As city manager, Patterson will oversee the day to day operations of the Casper city government, including 508 full time employees and a budget of $134 million.

Patterson comes to Casper with more than 30 years of municipal experience. For the last six years he has served as the CAO of Ogden City, Utah. His work history also includes experience in other communities as public works director, finance director, and city manager.

The Casper City Council is scheduled to formally hire Patterson at its regular meeting on July 19th. Patterson’s first day of work will be August 1.
