CITY MANAGER, V H MCDONALD, ANNOUNCED WEDNESDAY THE RETIREMENT OF CASPER FIRE CHIEF, KENNY KING. MCDONALD RELEASED A STATEMENT SAYING:

"CHIEF KING HAS LONG BEEN DEDICATED AND COMMITTED TO FIRE SERVICE AND THE COMMUNITY. I APPRECIATE CHIEF KING'S EARLIER APOLOGY TO THE COMMUNITY."

THIS CAME JUST HOURS AFTER CHIEF KING RELEASED A LETTER STATING AN APOLOGY FOR AN EMAIL THAT WAS LEAKED FROM LAST YEAR REGARDING SURVEILLANCE VIDEO OF THE COLE CREEK FIRE. KING WROTE:

"COULD YOU CUT OUT THE BAD PARTS AND MAKE SURE NO COPIES ARE MADE AND ONLY DCI VIEWS?"

WE LEFT MESSAGES TO CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS REGARDING THE NEWS BUT DID NOT HEAR BACK. CITY MANAGER MCDONALD AND POLICE CHIEF WETZEL HAVE NO COMMENTS AT THIS TIME.
