More than 5 thousand Rocky Mountain Powers Customers were without electricity at some point on Monday in Casper, along with roughly 2 thousand homes in Laramie. Hurricane force winds brought down power lines, turned over trucks, and up-rooted large trees. Wind gusts reached speeds between 60 and 80 miles power hour in Natrona County. State Highway 258 (Outer Drive) was even forced to shutdown for a few hours, after a tractor trailer blew over. According to reports, the driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. As of late Monday night, roughly 200 people still remain without power in Casper. Officials hope to have the power restored on Tuesday. A high wind warning remains in affect for portions of the state until 8PM Tuesday evening.
