Wildland Fire off I-25

Submitted: 8/8/17

A wildland fire sparked off I-25 North at Mile Marker 214. Crews responded to the late morning fire within 30 minutes of it being reported. The fire burned just over one acre on BLM land. Fire fighters were concerned it could have spread into a nearby pasture, but they stopped it from reaching that point. While the cause was not immediately determined, officials tell K2 it could have been started by a spark from a blown tire. Parts of a tire were seen scattered by the fire.

K2's Aaron Groff was on scene.
