Douglas Man Arrested After Six Hour Standoff

A six hour standoff in Douglas ended this morning in the arrest of a man who is now facing an attempted murder charge. 
  
 

Douglas police eventually took Levie George into custody, after initially responding to a domestic dispute call at the Lone Tree Village mobile homes at 12:30am
  
Upon arriving, officers saw the suspect's wife run out of the trailer with a cut on her head. The officers approached the trailer home, which was occupied by the suspect, another adult male and six children. 
  
The officers were finally able to get into the home at about 7 this morning, after they were told by the other adult male in the home that the suspect had fallen asleep. 
 
Aside from attempted murder charge, George is also being charged with child endangerment, and carrying a firearm while being a convicted felon. 
  
George had previous run-ins with law including DUI offenses as well as driving without child restraints. The suspects wife as well as the children were reunited and given medical attention.
