Wyoming Coal Mining Tax Changes?

Wyoming law makers are considering changing the way they tax the coal industry.  The current tax structure isn't suited to accommodate the rising cost of mining.  It's a $1.0 billion  a year industry for the state of Wyoming alone.  The proposed tax plan, under the current conditions, would only put $3.0 million of that back in the coal companies pockets per year.  The coal industry is facing a rising cost in fuel and they are having to dig deeper than ever to reach the coal, with the actual price of the coal staying the same.  Law makers are expected to meet Friday in Worland to decide on the issue.
