Coyotes' Goalie and His Guitar

"In grade three, I sang James Blunt you're beautiful with a guitar and sang it, standing ovation and every since then I was hooked," Dylan Ossachuk said.

Dylan Ossachuk grew up skating on the ice in Canada and it's become a big part of his life.

"It's kind of a rite of passage where I'm from in Northwestern Ontario. Hockey is kind of what we all live and breathe," he said.

Ossachuk can be found carrying his goalie stick and guitar in the back of his truck

"I've been playing guitar since I was six and singing since I was seven, so it's definitely been a life long thing for me," he said. "Making a game saving save you feel good because you save the boys, but when everyone gets up and claps and gives you a standing ovation for singing it's more of a personal thing," he said.

Just a couple weeks ago, some of Casper Coyotes found out their teammate can really belt it out and strum to the beat.

"I saw a couple jaws drop. I don't think anyone really expects it, like you said being an athlete of a musician usually don't coincide with each other. It's definitely something you don't expect," he said.

Some people may believe it's sports or the arts.

"Honestly if I had the chance I would love to. I get asked a lot if I had the choice to choose hockey or music, what would I choose? I still don't have a straight up answer. It would just depend on the time and the place and what the opportunity was or wasn't," he said.

In the future, Ossachuk could be putting on a show, whether it's this season in the net, or down the road on the stage...I'm Megan Salle reporting in Casper for  K2 sports.
