Xavier Walton joined the K2 News Team in June 2012 as a reporter.
Xavier was born and raised in northern California. After graduating with honors from Capital Christian High School in Sacramento, he decided to attend California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, CA.

Xavier discovered his passion for being a news reporter in Columbus, OH, during his internship at ABC6 and FOX 28. After covering natural disasters and chasing weather storms all summer he was hooked.

To improve his writing skills, Xavier began writing for the news section of his school paper. He found that print journalism wasn't necessarily for him, but nonetheless he strived to be the best and had his stories featured on the front page nearly every week. By time he was a senior Xavier took on the role of News Editor, and helped the newspapers online multimedia section grow tremendously.

In summer 2011 Xavier had the privilege of working with some of the best in the business at 9NEWS in Denver. He really expanded his news background during this internship and still uses many of the tricks photographers taught him today.

Xavier enjoys being able to wake up every morning to a new challenge. He loves interacting with the community and having the privilege of telling their stories.

He was a three-year starter for the Cal Lutheran Basketball Program. Xavier loves sports, however the classic misconception is that he wants to be a sports reporter. Although he plays just about every sport, he wanted to retire from being a jock, and pursue a career as a news reporter.

Xavier feels honored to be a member of the K2 News Team and is looking forward to seeing all that the "Cowboy State" has to offer.

Feel free to email Xavier with any tips, suggestions, or story ideas. He gets lonely in Riverton.
